Abstract: Eucalyptus wood ash and stone dust are industrial by-products with strong potential for reuse in geotechnical applications, particularly for improving the engineering properties of clay soils that are unsuitable for embankment construction in their natural state. Untreated clay typically exhibits low shear strength, low bearing capacity, and high swelling potential, leading to long-term instability when used as a road embankment material. This study investigates the effects of partially replacing clay with eucalyptus wood ash and stone dust in various proportions to enhance soil strength while reducing reliance on natural borrow materials. Laboratory testing included the California Bearing Ratio (CBR), Direct Shear Test, and Consolidation Test, with all specimens prepared at the optimum moisture content (OMC) and maximum dry density (MDD) determined from the Modified Compaction Test (ASTM D1557). The results indicate that the fine particles of eucalyptus ash effectively fill the voids within the clay matrix, while stone dust contributes to increased frictional resistance. Consequently, the CBR value increased from 5% for natural clay to approximately 33–42% in the optimum blended mixtures. The cohesion (c) of the mixtures tended to decrease as replacement levels increased, whereas the internal friction angle (φ) showed a consistent rise due to the enhanced interparticle contact. Furthermore, the blended soils exhibited reduced compression index (Cc) and improved coefficient of consolidation (Cv), demonstrating better compressibility characteristics. Overall, the combination of eucalyptus wood ash and stone dust significantly improves the engineering behavior of clay soils, enabling their effective use as embankment materials in accordance with DRR Standard MTC 201/2545
