| Abstract: | This study aims to develop and compare the performance of machine learning models for predicting corporate dissolution in Thailand using financial statement data as the primary source. The sample consists of 13,218 legal entities, of which those that ceased operations in 2024 were classified as the event group. Financial statement data from 2022–2023 were used as independent variables for model construction. The machine learning algorithms employed in this study include Support Vector Machine (SVM), Light Gradient Boosting Machine (LightGBM), and Deep Neural Network (DNN). In addition, ensemble learning was applied using a majority voting approach. The data preparation process involved data cleaning, the construction of growth-related variables, and the transformation of categorical variables into suitable formats. Model performance was evaluated using K-fold cross-validation with Accuracy, Precision, Recall, and F1-score as evaluation metrics. The results indicate that the LightGBM model achieved the highest performance, with an accuracy of 94.10%, precision of 0.95, recall of 0.94, and F1-score of 0.94. Furthermore, when tested on an independent unseen dataset of 3,186 entities, the model maintained high efficiency and stability, achieving an accuracy of 92.90%, precision of 0.93, recall of 0.93, and F1-score of 0.93. The findings suggest that machine learning models, particularly LightGBM, have strong potential for application as an effective decision-support tool for assessing corporate dissolution risk in Thailand.
