Relationship between Authentic Self-Expression and Happiness at Work of Teachers

Abstract

The objectives of this research are 1) to examine the levels of authentic self-expression and happiness at work of teachers and 2) to study the relationship between authentic self-expression and happiness at work of teachers. The sample group for this study consisted of 378 teachers under the Office of Udon Thani Primary Educational Service Area 1. The research instrument was questionnaires. Statistics for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and Pearson’s correlation coefficient. The research findings revealed that 1) the overall level of authentic self-expression of teachers was at a moderate level and the overall level of happiness at work of teachers was at a high level and 2) the overall authentic self-expression was related positively happiness at work of teachers with a statistical significance at .01 level, (r =.517), authentic self-expression was related positively happiness at work in components of job satisfaction, affective organizational commitment and engagement with a statistical significance at .01 level r = .409, .478 and .452 respectively).

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาระดับการแสดงออกของตนอย่างเป็นตนเอง และความสุขในการทำงานของครู 2) ศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างการแสดงออกของตนอย่างเป็นตนเอง และความสุขในการทำงานของครู กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ ครูสังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษาประถมศึกษาอุดรธานี เขต 1 จำนวน 378 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการเก็บข้อมูล คือ แบบสอบถาม ค่าสถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล คือ ค่าความถี่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และค่าสัมประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์แบบเพียร์สัน ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) ระดับของการแสดงออกของตนอย่างเป็นตนเองของครูโดยรวม มีค่าเฉลี่ยอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง และระดับของความสุขในการทำงานของครูโดยรวม มีค่าเฉลี่ยอยู่ในระดับมาก 2) การแสดงออกของตนอย่างเป็นตนเอง มีความสัมพันธ์ทางบวกกับความสุขในการทำงานของครูโดยรวม อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .01 (r = .517) การแสดงออกของตนอย่างเป็นตนเอง มีความสัมพันธ์ทางบวกกับความสุขในการทำงาน ด้านความพึงพอใจในงาน ด้านความผูกพันทางอารมณ์ต่อองค์การ และด้านการยึดมั่น ต่อองค์การ อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .01 (r = .409, .478 และ .452 ตามลำดับ)
